Thankful!

I am so thankful for meaningful work. 

Why do I feel it is meaningful? It is meaningful because I don’t work for money. Don’t get me wrong, I get paid plenty for what I do and that is a fringe benefit that I am not soon planning to give up. I know my work is meaningful because I feel like the world might just miss the work I do if I didn’t do it any longer. 

It doesn’t matter to me that someone else might be able to do the work just as well or possibly even better. I, along with my team are providing product and service to thousands of people every year. And the fact is that most of them come back time and again. That says our customers must appreciate what we do and that the work matters. 

So when I give thanks this Thanksgiving, it will be with gratitude for my staff, and all the businesses, organizations and people that I get to serve and work for each day. I will also be thankful to God for giving me purpose through meaningful work, for just such a time as this.
